New season, new bag! Shop some of my favorite summer bags for 2024 and beyond.
Every spring/summer season, top designers come out with their version of the summer basket or raffia bag. It's hard not to want to snatch them all up because I love the effortless breeziness of the raffia tote. They're practical and add texture to your outfits.
It can be overwhelming to navigate the amount of basket bags out there. Keep your budget in mind first and foremost because some of these bags carry a hefty price tag, especially for what they are. While I adore the Prada Crochet tote that's been around for a few years now as well as the LOEWE Basket Bag, I completely understand that not everyone wants to spend that much. Plus, you can definitely get some great bags for very fair prices from brands like Jenni Kayne, Madewell, COS, etc.
Next, think about what you want the main function to be. Yes, they're cute, but do you want to travel with your bag? Use it as a beach bag? Have a smaller day-to-night piece? A shopper tote? I personally get a lot of use out of a mid-size everyday bag like The Row Estelle bag so far.
I know the price is crazy, but the Estelle bag is the perfect size and color. I can see myself carrying this well into the fall with an oversized sweater.
I didn't know they did a raffia version of the popular YSL Icare bag! The price point is outrageous for a raffia tote but it is very cute (and huge). An oversized tote looks relaxed and casual with a boxer short look.
A handheld raffia bag is a chic addition to a summer dress (and this one folds over!).
A black raffia bag has an instant cool factor and isn't as limiting to seasons. This Khaite Lotus bag looks so easy to wear and can definitely transcend seasons -- and outfits!
